The Conjuring : The Devil made me do it review
#TheConjuringTheDevilMadeMeDoIt is an excellent horror picture in every way. It maintains the franchise's essence while departing from some of its demonic traditions.
To begin, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who play Ed and Lorraine Warren, continue to give outstanding performances. They've been playing these characters for years and have maintained a similar tone in their performances, delving deeper into their personas with each picture. It's also enjoyable to see a scary film with a strong performance. The rest of the cast’s performances almost match the leads but don’t quite reach the same heights. Ruairi O’Connor plays Arnie, who is put on trial for murder while being possessed. He does a great job, specifically in switching between the possessed and normal versions of himself.
This picture does a surprisingly decent job of breaking the formula while remaining true to the franchise in terms of plot. The biggest difference from prior mainstream films is that this is not a haunted house picture. That aspect is present, but it isn't the primary focus, which is a good thing. In general, this film takes the investigative elements of earlier films and applies them to a variety of events and locales. There are still a few scary scenes, but they aren't all in the same place. That component serves to keep the film related to the previous two main features while also preventing it from becoming repetitive.
“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” is a fantastic horror film and an excellent addition to the series. It uses fantastic performances and technical execution to offer some outstanding scary scenes. The genre in the “The Conjuring” series is always a breath of new air for the horror genre. They don't quite measure up to the more creative and serious horror films of directors like Ari Aster and Robert Eggers, but they're nonetheless engaging and enjoyable.
"The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" will likely appeal to horror fans, but general viewers will undoubtedly like what it has to offer. At the end of the day, this is a good horror film we will recommend for you to watch.
