Judas and the Black Messiah

 

I am a Revolutionarie . The sweet words that come out the mouth of Daniel Kaluuya and a bold movie to which it comes from . 

Judas and the Black Messiah takes on the story of the assassination of Black panther party leader Fred Hampton ( Daniel Kaluuya) and also the infiltration of Bill O'Neal into the party .

Although it's a historical drama , the movie tells a story of what is happening today in the world . Uprisings and revolutions with racist and discriminatory actions .it shows us that words can do lot more than actions , as we see in the movie the role of words and speeches . Daniel Kaluuya taking on Fred Hamptons speeches is glory show and makes you want to follow him to do what he says .The whole point of the movie was to show the so called messaic side of Fred Hampton and not the terrorist or tyranny side the FBI made up or said .we also see the betrayal of Fred Hampton by Bill O'Neal the movies proclaimed Judas ,much in a metaphorical way the movie shows that Bill O'Neal (Laiketh Seinfeld) gave up a life for thirty silver shekels or in the more literal way a five year sentence for stealing a car and impersonating a police officer .Bill O'Neal is money minded ( just like Judas was) and wasn't ready to pay for his crimes and of course ended up like his metaphorical namesake , died by his own hands 

Leaving that aside we also see that Fred Hampton was not all righteous as the movie was intended to show .he believed in violence ,he says "Politics is war without bloodshed and war is politics with bloodshed ". He believed blood must be spilled for change .but the work he did for the betterment of his community was astounding .he even decided to use the money intended for him to flee from the FBI on the night of his untimely death . The movie also showed the social injustice in America in the 60s .

Daniel Kaluuya was all-round perfect . A brilliant performance from him .Laketh Seifeild was brilliant as Bill o'neal . The way he switched emotions and faces was definitely mind gripping ,a characteristic of a good Judas 

Shaka Kings directory was amazing giving the right tone for the movie all out . The only bad part of the movie was the inconcluvisity of the plot and the fact that I cried when Fred hampton was shot in his sleep. 

Judas and the Black messiah is a movie I will highly recommend if your hoping to start a revolution and if your looking for good biopic movie or if your just looking for a real good movie to watch and why not it's already racking up award nominations and I doubt it won't be a record breaker .
